Certified translations do not expire. A new translation is only needed if your source document changes or an organization requests a more recent version.
When Translations Remain Valid
- The translation accurately reflects the original document
- The original document has not been amended or updated
- No significant time has passed that makes the document itself outdated
When You Might Need a New Translation
- Document Updated: If the original document is amended or reissued
- Organizational Request: If an organization specifically requests a recent translation
- Different Purpose: If you need the translation formatted differently for a new use
Keeping Your Translation
We recommend:
- Saving digital copies in a secure location
- Making copies of physical translations before submitting originals
- Accessing previous translations through your account dashboard
